Acceptable Use Policy

1. Purpose

This Acceptable Use Policy (“AUP”) sets out the rules governing use of the ManufactureIQ platform at www.manufactureiq.org.uk (“the Service”). It forms part of our Terms of Service. By using the Service, you agree to comply with this AUP.

2. Permitted Use

The Service is designed for use by UK manufacturers and related businesses to:

  • Upload, manage, and analyse financial and ESG data for internal business reporting
  • Generate AI-powered financial insights, forecasts, and ESG analysis for internal review
  • Track KPIs, budgets, supplier risks, and environmental metrics
  • Produce reports for board-level review, investor communications, or regulatory submissions
  • Invite and collaborate with colleagues within your organisation

3. Prohibited Conduct

You must not use the Service for any of the following:

3.1 Illegal or Harmful Activity

  • Any purpose that is unlawful under English law or the law of any jurisdiction in which you operate
  • Money laundering, fraud, tax evasion, or any form of financial crime
  • Uploading false, misleading, or fabricated financial data with intent to deceive investors, auditors, or regulators
  • Any activity that violates the Financial Services and Markets Act 2000, the Companies Act 2006, or ESG-related disclosure regulations

3.2 Security and Technical Abuse

  • Attempting to gain unauthorised access to any part of the Service, its servers, databases, or infrastructure
  • Conducting penetration tests, vulnerability scans, or security assessments without our prior written consent
  • Introducing viruses, malware, ransomware, or any other harmful code
  • Attempting to disrupt, overload, or impair the Service through denial-of-service attacks or excessive automated requests
  • Using automated scripts, bots, or scrapers to access, extract, or index content from the Service
  • Reverse-engineering, decompiling, or attempting to extract source code from the Service

3.3 Account and Access Misuse

  • Sharing account credentials with persons outside your organisation
  • Creating multiple accounts to circumvent usage limits or subscription tiers
  • Accessing accounts belonging to other users without authorisation
  • Impersonating any person, company, or entity

3.4 Intellectual Property and Data Misuse

  • Uploading content that infringes any third-party intellectual property, confidentiality, or privacy rights
  • Uploading personal data of employees or third parties in breach of UK GDPR without a valid lawful basis
  • Reselling, sublicensing, or otherwise commercially exploiting access to the Service without our written consent
  • Using AI-generated outputs to create derivative products or services that compete with ManufactureIQ

4. Data Responsibility

You are solely responsible for ensuring that all data you upload to the Service is:

  • Accurate and not misleading
  • Lawfully obtained and held by your organisation
  • Compliant with applicable data protection laws where it includes personal data
  • Not subject to confidentiality obligations that prevent its use in a cloud-hosted service

5. AI Output Responsibility

You acknowledge that AI-generated outputs (insights, forecasts, commentary, reports) may contain errors, inaccuracies, or omissions. You must not:

  • Present AI-generated financial forecasts as audited or verified figures
  • Submit AI-generated ESG data or reports to regulators as primary evidence without independent verification
  • Rely on AI commentary as legal, financial, or accounting advice

6. Enforcement and Consequences

We reserve the right to:

  • Investigate any suspected violation of this AUP
  • Suspend or terminate your account immediately upon discovering a violation, without refund
  • Preserve and disclose data to law enforcement or regulatory authorities where required by law or court order
  • Take legal action to recover losses caused by your breach of this AUP

Minor or inadvertent breaches may result in a warning rather than immediate termination, at our sole discretion.

7. Reporting Violations

If you become aware of any misuse of the Service or a potential violation of this AUP, please report it immediately to hello@manufactureiq.org.uk with the subject line “AUP Violation Report”. We take all reports seriously and will investigate promptly.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this AUP from time to time. Continued use of the Service after an updated AUP is posted constitutes your acceptance. Material changes will be communicated by email with 14 days' notice.
