Cookie Policy
Last updated: 1 March 2026
1. What Are Cookies?
Cookies are small text files that are placed on your device by websites you visit. They are widely used to make websites work efficiently, to remember your preferences, and to provide basic functionality such as keeping you logged in.
This policy explains how ManufactureIQ uses cookies and similar technologies on our platform at www.manufactureiq.org.uk, in compliance with the UK Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations 2003 (PECR) and UK GDPR.
2. Cookies We Use
We use only essential cookies that are strictly necessary for the platform to function. We do not use advertising, tracking, or analytics cookies.
| Cookie Name | Purpose | Type | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| miq_token | Stores your authentication token to keep you logged in | Essential | Session / 30 days |
| miq_theme | Remembers your light or dark mode preference | Preference | 1 year |
Both values are stored in your browser's localStorage, not as HTTP cookies. This means they are never sent to our servers with requests, but operate in the same way as cookies for the purposes of this policy and PECR compliance.
3. Third-Party Cookies
We do not set or permit any third-party advertising, social media, or analytics tracking cookies on our platform. Our third-party service providers (Stripe, Vercel) may set their own essential cookies strictly required for payment processing and content delivery. We do not control these cookies. Please refer to the respective providers' privacy and cookie policies for details.
4. Legal Basis
Under PECR, we are not required to obtain consent for strictly necessary cookies. The miq_token cookie is strictly necessary for the Service to function — without it, you cannot remain logged in. The miq_theme preference is set only after you actively change your display preference. No consent banner is required for these uses.
5. How to Manage Cookies
You can control and delete cookies through your browser settings. Instructions for major browsers:
- Google Chrome: Settings → Privacy and security → Cookies and other site data
- Mozilla Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data
- Microsoft Edge: Settings → Cookies and site permissions
- Safari: Preferences → Privacy → Manage Website Data
Please note: Deleting or blocking essential cookies will prevent you from logging in to ManufactureIQ and will cause the platform to not function correctly.
To clear your ManufactureIQ login session, you can clear localStorage for our domain in your browser's developer tools (Application → Local Storage).
6. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time. If we introduce any new cookies, we will update this page accordingly and provide appropriate notice where required. The current version will always be at www.manufactureiq.org.uk/cookies.
7. Contact
If you have any questions about our use of cookies, please contact us at hello@manufactureiq.org.uk.
